Practical information
From 6 to 29 January 2023, the light festival I light U will take place in Utrecht for the second time. An exhibition with cool light art by national and international light artists in and around the station area.
There is no fixed route and no entrance fee, let yourself be carried away along the luminous works of art! The lights come on every day from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

What are the opening hours of I light u?
I Light U can be visited for free from 6 to 29 January 2023. The lights will be on from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Do I have to buy a ticket for I light u?
I Light U is free for everyone to visit. So you don’t have to buy a ticket.
Is there a route?
There is no fixed route for I Light U, let yourself be carried away along the luminous works of art!
WHAT IS THE THEME OF I LIGHT U?
The theme of this edition is Homecoming. Coming home, feeling at home, finding a home away from home, and all the other interpretations the artists have on Homecoming.
What about energy consumption?
It is precisely in this changing world that energy consumption and a warm home are of course a topical subject. I light U brings art that makes the visitor enjoy and think. These works of art consume light and therefore energy. The amount of energy used is already very low due to LED technology. Nevertheless, it is a good reason to look at how we can save the amount of energy with our own lighting. The partners of I light U in the station area will therefore all turn off the lights in their buildings themselves, so that the light artworks can be turned on. In this way, all passengers, users and residents in the station area will receive a beautifully illuminated moment in the gray month of January.
CAN I COME BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT?
We recommend that you come by public transport. I Light U takes place in the station area of Utrecht and is within walking distance of Utrecht Central Station.
WHERE CAN I PARK my car?
Are you coming by car? Then we advise you to use the Croeselaan car park (Croeselaan 14P, Utrecht) or the Jaarbeurs car parks P2 and P4 (Truus van Lierlaan, Utrecht).
ARE THERE HORECA POINTS?
You will find several catering points along the route. For example, treat yourself to a nice hot chocolate!
