After the darkest month of the year, Utrecht is lighting up again! From 5 to 28 January 2024, the third edition of I Light U festival will take place in Utrecht. An exhibition of national and international light artists in and around the station area.

URBAN TRANSFORMATION

For almost two decades, the beautiful city of Utrecht has been undergoing an inspiring urban transformation. This adventure began with the restoration of the Catharijnesingel, followed by the opening of the iconic TivoliVredenburg and the modern makeover of the Hoog Catharijne shopping center. Utrecht Central Station is the beating heart of these changes. The area now feels familiar, but less than a decade ago, it underwent a complete transformation.

In January 2024, I Light U introduces its own temporary addition to the station area with a light art exhibition. With a curious eye, the selected artists reflect on the theme of ‘Urban Transformation.’
