Office Party stems from the playful idea that our workplaces can come alive during our absence. Parker believes that this architectural design touches the life inside. That in the future, as a human being, you are surrounded by structures that are already thinking and even moving with you!
It also touches on the future of architectural design, speculating on responsive and kinetic structures that can adapt to the needs of occupants. Using networked kinetic structures, Office Party choreographs a performance in the empty offices of the city, creating a magical moment.

Parker Heyl is a kinetic artist, set designer, and mechanical engineer. His work questions digital technologies in contemporary music, art, and architectural practices; translating from the physical to the virtual. He believes these translations are not lossless, that what is vanished is a sense of presence, or what Walter Benjamin defines as object aura. The physical object is slowly tranquillized and replaced with less potent simulacra of itself.
Michael is an architect, stage and experience designer, as well as a sound, lighting and video technician. An architect with substantial experience in the stage and event industry, Michael combines his two fields of work in his research. His specific focus lies on rethinking conventional ways of structuring the spatial, visual, and auditory dimensions of events within a wider frame of spatial design and event technology, as well as audience interaction. To critically and creatively address respective contemporary issues, Michael combines architecture, stage design, and stage technology to create unique, interactive, and immersive content and experiences.
