OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE

ALAA MINAWI

Alaa Minawi’s artwork Out Of Body Experience invites you to revel in the enchanting world of dance. It portrays six dancers in silhouette alongside a seventh seated figure, illustrating how dancing can invoke a liberating out of body experience. As the dancers move rhythmically to the music, they transcend the limits of their physical forms, with a neck breaking free and a soul awakening. For Minawi, dancing together is a universal experience that connects us in an invisible yet profound way.

Out Of Body Experience: feel the power of dance

At first glance, it appears to be merely a group of dancers enjoying themselves, but if you take a moment to look closer, you will uncover the distinctive personalities in each figure: the lovestruck couple, the hesitant novice, the alluring dancer. Which style and vibe resonate with you the most? Perhaps you see a beloved one reflected in their movements. Out of Body Experience invites you to weave your own narrative into this captivating scene.

Out Of Body Experience celebrates dance as a universal language that embodies our human desire for cathartic experiences. The concept of connection through dance resonates beautifully with this year’s theme of I Light U.

ALIVE in the artist’s view

For me, being alive means having a deep awareness of oneself and one’s surroundings. Out Of Body Experience illustrates how dance can lead to a transformation—a shift in how you perceive space and your own body. This sensation of detachment and exploration becomes an intensely heightened experience of truly living.
