During a series of workshops, young residents of an asylum seekers’ center created their own self-portraits using a single continuous light line. The result is a collection of 18 unique drawings that together form one large gesamtkunstwerk: a collective portrait of young people with extraordinary stories.

The work combines artistic and technical craftsmanship with a deeply human dimension. Each portrait is distinct, yet together they form a powerful and moving whole, making the installation equally suited to intimate settings and large-scale presentations.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” width=”90%” max_width=”1920px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][difl_justifiedgallery gallery=”987509060,987509058,987509056,987509052,987509046,987509042,987508976,987508968,987508970″ image_size=”large” rowheight=”200″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/difl_justifiedgallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ module_id=”dwaallicht” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ background_color=”#272d7e” background_image=”https://ilightu.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/photographer-3-oa-3.png” custom_padding=”50px|0px|50px|0px|true|false” border_width_top=”3px” border_color_top=”gcid-heading-color” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-heading-color%22:%91%22border_color_top%22%93}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ use_custom_gutter=”on” gutter_width=”1″ _builder_version=”4.16″ width=”90%” max_width=”1176px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.5″ text_font=”Nunito Sans||||||||” text_text_color=”#5499D4″ text_font_size=”16px” header_font=”Poppins|600|||||||” header_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_line_height=”1.5em” header_2_font=”Poppins|700|||||||” header_2_font_size=”50px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” header_3_font=”Poppins|300|||||||” custom_margin=”|15px|||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Happy Tunnel

Dwaallicht / Ignis Fatuus

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ text_font=”–et_global_body_font|300|||||||” text_text_color=”#FFFFFF” text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”1.8em” header_font=”Nunito Sans|700|||||||” header_text_color=”#297FCA” min_height=”179.8px” custom_margin=”30px|30px|||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Long before electric light existed, travellers in forests, marshes and peatlands were sometimes led astray by mysterious wandering lights: brief glimmers that appeared, vanished, and resurfaced elsewhere, as if guiding and deceiving at the same time. It is a reminder that the most powerful effects are sometimes achieved through the simplest means.

House of Belonging is a projection work ideally suited to monumental façades, where the interplay between architectural form and projected image adds an extra layer of meaning.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” width=”90%” max_width=”1920px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][difl_justifiedgallery gallery=”987510508,987509030,987509024,987508952,987508889″ image_size=”large” rowheight=”200″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/difl_justifiedgallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ module_id=”ghost” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ background_color=”#272d7e” background_image=”https://ilightu.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/photographer-3-oa-3.png” custom_padding=”50px|0px|50px|0px|true|false” border_width_top=”3px” border_color_top=”gcid-heading-color” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-heading-color%22:%91%22border_color_top%22%93}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ use_custom_gutter=”on” gutter_width=”1″ _builder_version=”4.16″ width=”90%” max_width=”1176px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.5″ text_font=”Nunito Sans||||||||” text_text_color=”#5499D4″ text_font_size=”16px” header_font=”Poppins|600|||||||” header_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_line_height=”1.5em” header_2_font=”Poppins|700|||||||” header_2_font_size=”50px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” header_3_font=”Poppins|300|||||||” custom_margin=”|15px|||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Front404

Ghost Town

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ text_font=”–et_global_body_font|300|||||||” text_text_color=”#FFFFFF” text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”1.8em” header_font=”Nunito Sans|700|||||||” header_text_color=”#297FCA” min_height=”179.8px” custom_margin=”30px|30px|||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Ghostly animals emerge among the plants and greenery of an urban environment. That principle has been translated here into a three-dimensional, kinetic arrangement of LED columns.

The installation is suitable for a wide range of outdoor and indoor settings, and its modular column structure allows for flexible configuration across different spaces and footprints.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” width=”90%” max_width=”1920px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][difl_justifiedgallery gallery=”987510390,987510388,987510386,987510384,987510382,987510380,987510378,987510376,987510374,987510372,987510370″ image_size=”large” rowheight=”200″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/difl_justifiedgallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ module_id=”colours” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ background_color=”#272d7e” background_image=”https://ilightu.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/photographer-3-oa-3.png” custom_padding=”50px|0px|50px|0px|true|false” border_width_top=”3px” border_color_top=”gcid-heading-color” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-heading-color%22:%91%22border_color_top%22%93}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ use_custom_gutter=”on” gutter_width=”1″ _builder_version=”4.16″ width=”90%” max_width=”1176px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.5″ text_font=”Nunito Sans||||||||” text_text_color=”#5499D4″ text_font_size=”16px” header_font=”Poppins|600|||||||” header_text_color=”#FFFFFF” header_line_height=”1.5em” header_2_font=”Poppins|700|||||||” header_2_font_size=”50px” header_2_line_height=”1.2em” header_3_font=”Poppins|300|||||||” custom_margin=”|15px|||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Wilhelmusvlug

All My Colours

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ text_font=”–et_global_body_font|300|||||||” text_text_color=”#FFFFFF” text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”1.8em” header_font=”Nunito Sans|700|||||||” header_text_color=”#297FCA” min_height=”179.8px” custom_margin=”30px|30px|||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]

A world where colours and sounds converge. Yet few people stop to consider that the rainbow as we see it is entirely dependent on our human perspective. Dogs perceive no colour at all, only shades of grey. Birds, by contrast, can see even more colours than we can, including ultraviolet light. By making these different ways of seeing visible, All My Colours playfully confronts visitors with how profoundly their worldview is shaped by their own senses.

The installation was created in collaboration with Utrecht-based film composer Han Otten, who composed a distinct, immersive soundscape for each colour spectrum. The result is a symphony of light and sound that brings the light columns to life across three different worlds, each one a complete sensory experience in its own right.

All My Colours is suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings, and works particularly well as a walk-through or stand-alone centrepiece installation where visitors can move between the three spectra.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” width=”90%” max_width=”1920px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][difl_justifiedgallery gallery=”987510624,987510626,987510628,987510630,987510632,987510634,987510636,987510638,987510640,987510642″ image_size=”large” rowheight=”200″ _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/difl_justifiedgallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”Exclusive Feature Section” _builder_version=”4.27.5″ background_color=”#272d7e” background_image=”https://ilightu.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/photographer-3-oa-3.png” custom_padding=”7px||7px||true|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ custom_padding_last_edited=”on|desktop” admin_label=”Exclusive Feature Area” _builder_version=”4.27.5″ background_enable_color=”off” background_color_gradient_direction=”100deg” background_image=”https://ilightu.nl/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/I-Light-U-2026-beeld-1600-x-385-px-1.png” background_size=”contain” max_width=”1200px” custom_margin=”|||” custom_padding=”3.9%||5%|0px|false|false” custom_padding_tablet=”|5%||” custom_padding_phone=”|||” border_color_all=”RGBA(255,255,255,0)” box_shadow_style=”preset7″ box_shadow_horizontal=”0px” box_shadow_vertical=”0px” box_shadow_color=”#ededed” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Bring a special light experience to your festival or eventBelow are ten artworks available for rent.
