Sunny Cloud is a cloud with thousands of lights that hangs in the station hall of Utrecht Central (center side). The cloud is made of energy efficient LED lights, which are controlled\u00a0by a computer program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Artist John K\u00f6rmeling designed this work of art during his participation in the\u00a0design competition for a meeting point at the stations of the New Key Projects (NSP). This artwork can be seen at several stations in the Netherlands. For instance\u00a0Rotterdam Centraal, Utrecht Centraal, Breda, Arnhem en Den Haag Centraal.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sunny Cloud\u00a0serves as a landmark for travellers to meet. It is located in front of the check-in gates at the train station. The light in the cloud reacts to the environment and the\u00a0frequency of the flashing light is adjusted to local conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

John K\u00f6rmeling is\u00a0a sculptor and architect with an\u00a0architectural background.\u00a0He likes to go off the beaten track. In his works he is mainly concerned with architecture, planning, urban planning, infrastructure and mobility. He designs creative and artistic solutions with a nice sense of humour.<\/span><\/p>\n
