The spaces In Between

Jaarbeursplein (vijver)

The piece is a 5m diameter semi circle of fragmented light that uses pixel-mapped waves of colour to create an ever changing form, whose image is only made whole by its reflection in the water. Just as we search out the sunrise, and are drawn to natural phenomena in urban landscapes, the piece will invite in participants. As you are drawn closer, you are able to interact with the installation. Your silhouette is woven into its surface, reacting to your movements in real time; impossible shadows mapped onto the very object which is the source of these shadows.

“The sun is the centre around which our celestial body moves. As people move through the city in their daily routines, the spaces in between will encourage them to pause, play, and reflect on their place in wherever they call home.”
